Click here to view The Evening Record headline and article dated
Tuesday June 25, 1918, which tells of
James B. Scarr being killed in action in France.

James B. Scarr lived in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, an adjacent town to Hackensack, and graduated from
Hackensack High School in 1912 as the article states.

James B. Scarr is not listed on any of the City plaques or memorials and when you read the article you get the impression his roots were in Hasbrouck Heights.

James B. Scarr would have received the Purple Heart for his actions.

Let us never forget his sacrifice.
